The Birdie-Birdie Finish at Augusta National
Woad entered the closing stretch of the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur needing something special. She delivered consecutive birdies at the 17th and 18th holes, closed with a 69 and finished at 8 under to defeat Bailey Shoemaker by one stroke.
The finish made Woad the first English winner of the championship and immediately gave her a defining moment on one of golf’s most recognizable courses.

Becoming World No. 1 at Florida State
Woad joined Florida State in 2022 and quickly became one of the most decorated golfers in the program. She won the 2023 ANNIKA Intercollegiate, earned national freshman recognition and was later named ACC Golfer of the Year and Florida State Female Athlete of the Year.
Her 2024 season included the Augusta National victory and a runner-up finish in the individual competition at the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship. She reached No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in June 2024 and received the Mark H. McCormack Medal later that year, becoming the first English woman to earn the honor.
Woad also represented Great Britain and Ireland in the victorious 2024 Curtis Cup. Her Florida State career ended with a school-record 70.42 scoring average when she left college to turn professional before her senior season.
Winning as an Amateur—and Then Winning Her Pro Debut
Woad’s final weeks as an amateur compressed several career-changing moments into one remarkable stretch. She won the 2025 KPMG Women’s Irish Open by six strokes, becoming the first amateur to win on the Ladies European Tour since 2022. The victory also secured LET membership.
One week later, she finished tied for third at the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship, only one stroke outside the playoff. That performance completed her route to LPGA membership through the tour’s Elite Amateur Pathway. She turned professional in July 2025 rather than returning to Florida State for her senior season.
Woad then won the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open at 21 under in her professional debut, beating Hyo Joo Kim by three strokes. She followed it with a top-10 finish at the 2025 AIG Women’s Open.
Second LPGA Victory
In May 2026, Woad won the Kroger Queen City Championship by two strokes over Haeran Ryu. She recovered from a final-round double bogey, played steady golf down the stretch and birdied the 17th to secure her first professional victory in the United States.

Lottie Woad’s Cup-Winning Sunday
Woad qualified automatically for Team Europe at the 2026 Solheim Cup and formed part of a four-rookie class with captain’s picks Julia Lopez Ramirez, Nastasia Nadaud and Mimi Rhodes.
She finished her debut 1–3–1. Woad’s victory came when Europe needed it most: she defeated Auston Kim 2&1 in Sunday singles to move Europe to 14 points, one half-point from regaining the Cup. Carlota Ciganda then delivered the official clinching point, and Europe completed a 15–13 victory.
Captain Anna Nordqvist paired Woad with Charley Hull in all four team sessions before the rookie earned Europe’s pivotal Sunday win on her own ball.
