Kihei Akina Clubs & Specs
The Ping equipment documented for the BYU All-American at the 2026 Bank of Utah Championship.
What clubs was Kihei Akina documented using?
Ping announced Akina’s NIL agreement on 09-30-2026, and GOLF published the itemized model list on 10-01-2026 before the Bank of Utah Championship. The agreement calls for a full bag of Ping clubs plus a Ping bag and headwear outside collegiate events.
This is a tournament-specific evidence snapshot. Neither source published every loft, shaft, setting, grind or club count, and Ping expressly distinguished non-collegiate appearances from college competition. My9Iron therefore does not claim that every component below remains unchanged.
Kihei Akina equipment quick facts
Driver: Ping G440 LST
Akina was documented with a Ping G440 LST driver for the Bank of Utah Championship. “LST” identifies Ping’s low-spin head family, but the evidence reviewed did not specify Akina’s loft, hosel setting, shaft, shaft length, grip or swing weight.
Prototype Ping mini driver
The most interesting club in the published setup is an unnamed Ping prototype mini driver. Ping and GOLF confirmed its presence but did not disclose a retail name, loft, shaft or release plan. It should remain labeled as a prototype until Ping publishes additional information.
Mixed Ping i240 and Blueprint S irons
The reported iron setup blended Ping i240 and Blueprint S models. A mixed set commonly allows a player to combine added forgiveness in longer irons with a more compact profile in scoring clubs, but neither source identified Akina’s exact transition point. My9Iron does not infer which numbered irons came from either family.
Wedges: Ping S259
Ping S259 wedges were included in the published inventory. The available evidence did not identify the number of wedges, lofts, sole grinds, bounce angles or shafts, so those specifications remain intentionally blank.
Putter: Ping PLD Ally Blue H
Akina’s documented putter was the Ping PLD Ally Blue H. The sources did not provide its length, lie, loft, head weight or grip. The entry records the confirmed model without presenting retail specifications as Akina’s personal build.
Specifications not yet published
Ping confirmed the club families, but not Akina’s individual build. Loft, shaft, setting, set makeup, wedge grind, putter measurements and golf-ball model therefore remain unstated. The same applies to his BYU setup, which may differ from the non-collegiate equipment documented here.
About the golfer
Akina is a Hawaii-born BYU amateur who won two college events as a freshman, finished tied for eighth at the 2026 NCAA Championship and played for the United States in the Arnold Palmer Cup and Walker Cup. Read the complete Kihei Akina biography.
