The Story So Far

Why Fans Are Talking About Mimi

Won Her Third Start as a Pro
Rhodes turned professional immediately after the 2024 Curtis Cup and won the Lavaux Ladies Open on the LET Access Series just 16 days later, beating Billie-Jo Smith in a playoff in only her third professional start.
The Ricochet Ace Heard Round Golf
At the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl, Rhodes’ tee shot on the par-3 5th struck playing partner Steph Kyriacou’s ball in the air and deflected into the hole for an ace — her second hole-in-one of the 2025 season, and a shot widely compared to Louis Oosthuizen’s similar ace at the 2016 Masters.
Three Wins in Four Starts
Rhodes won the Ford Women’s NSW Open, the Joburg Ladies Open, and the Dutch Ladies Open across four LET starts in 2025, a run that earned her LET Rookie of the Year and second place in the season’s Order of Merit.
Sisters Who Shared a Curtis Cup
Mimi and her younger sister Patience Rhodes played together on the 2024 GB&I Curtis Cup team at Sunningdale, becoming only the second pair of sisters — after Leona and Lisa Maguire — to compete together in the event’s history.
A Historic Winning Solheim Cup Debut
Rhodes finished 2–1–0 as Europe won the 2026 Solheim Cup. She and fellow rookie Nastasia Nadaud became the first rookie pairing in Solheim Cup history to win two matches together.

Early Life

Growing Up Between Spain and England

Rhodes was introduced to golf in Sotogrande, Spain, by her grandmother Sue Goodwin, a single-digit handicapper who waited 30 years for her first hole-in-one and then made two in one round. Mimi and her younger sister Patience are the two younger of four siblings, alongside older siblings Monty and Florrie. Rhodes has described an independent upbringing — attending school in Spain without speaking Spanish, then boarding at Millfield School in England — as formative to her development. She also credits rhythmic gymnastics and piano, studied to Grade 7, with instilling the discipline she later applied to putting practice.

Rhodes serves as the official touring professional ambassador for the Alto Club in Sotogrande, an April 2026 appointment alongside Suzann Pettersen as the Academy’s Global Ambassador.

Defining Amateur Moment

The Curtis Cup Putt That Started Everything

Rhodes signed with Wake Forest in November 2019 as a career-best No. 71 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, and went on to help Wake Forest win the 2023 NCAA Division I Championship. Her defining amateur moment came at the 2024 Curtis Cup at Sunningdale: three down through seven holes against Melanie Green, Rhodes fought back and holed a par putt on the 17th that guaranteed at least a half-point. She lost the 18th and the match finished all square, but that guaranteed half-point supplied the 10½ points GB&I needed to reclaim the Curtis Cup.

Rhodes and Patience were only the second pair of sisters — after Leona and Lisa Maguire — to compete together in Curtis Cup history.

One of the more significant changes in Rhodes’ game took shape during her junior year at Wake Forest, when her coaches called her into their office and told her they wouldn’t let her hit balls on the range until she’d put in two or three hours of putting practice first. Rhodes has said she was furious about it at the time — “all I wanted to do was get onto the range and like perfect my swing” — but came to see how much the work improved her results. She never won an individual college title despite repeatedly coming close, but her improved putting became an important part of the game she carried into professional golf.

Turning Pro

A Rookie Season Few Could Match

Rhodes turned professional immediately after the 2024 Curtis Cup and won the Lavaux Ladies Open on the LET Access Series in her third professional start, 16 days later, defeating Billie-Jo Smith in a playoff. Her 2025 LET rookie season then produced three wins in four starts: the Ford Women’s NSW Open (won by 2, a course-record 62 included), the Joburg Ladies Open (beat Casandra Alexander by 1), and the Dutch Ladies Open (won by 2). The run earned her LET Rookie of the Year and a second-place finish in the season’s Order of Merit, behind Shannon Tan.

Rhodes also made her major debut on invitation in 2025, missing the cut at the Women’s PGA Championship and the Evian Championship while finishing T19 at the AIG Women’s Open — the tournament where her ricochet ace off Steph Kyriacou’s ball became one of the year’s most talked-about shots.

Earning Her Card

A Pressure-Cooker Path to the LPGA

Rhodes earned her LPGA Tour status at the December 2025 Q-Series, closing with a 72 to finish T24 at 5-under — just inside the top-25-and-ties cutoff. Her 2026 LPGA rookie season began with a top-10 at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in Singapore, her first start as an LPGA Tour member, followed by a second top-10 at the Ford Championship. She missed the cut at the Chevron Championship and has spoken candidly about the harder transition to LPGA-level fields compared with the LET.

In Her Own Words

Mimi on Pressure, Putting, and Q-Series

Rhodes has called Q-Series “really stressful,” admitting she “probably made it the most stressful way possible.” Needing a birdie on the final hole to secure her card, she hit a 5-iron to roughly 14 feet and faced what she called her “literal arch nemesis” — a left-to-right, downhill breaking putt. She made it, and called the moment “a dream come true.”

Rhodes has also credited breath work and meditation with strengthening the mental side of her game, saying the value became clear once those techniques held up “under so much pressure.”

Current Storyline

A Winning Solheim Cup Debut

On August 3, 2026, Team Europe captain Anna Nordqvist named Rhodes one of four captain’s picks for the 2026 Solheim Cup, alongside veteran Leona Maguire and fellow rookies Julia Lopez Ramirez and Nastasia Nadaud. Explaining her choice of Rhodes over Chiara Tamburlini, Nordqvist said, “I felt Mimi showed a little better form.” Rhodes made her Solheim Cup debut at Bernardus Golf as Europe won 15–13. Rhodes finished 2–1–0, earning both of her points alongside Nastasia Nadaud in Friday four-ball and Saturday foursomes. They became the first rookie pairing in Solheim Cup history to win two matches together.

Before the pick was announced, Rhodes explained the appeal of a Solheim Cup spot: golf, she said, is normally “just you and your caddy out on the golf course,” and the team event is a rare chance to share it with “other people around you and being able to root for them” — from the foursomes pairings to the fist bumps.
