Why Did Micah Morris Leave Good Good?
Micah left Good Good on November 23, 2022, the same week as fellow member Grant Horvat. In a video titled “The Truth About Me & GoodGood,” he said he and the rest of the group had developed different visions and had grown apart, without going into further detail. He indicated he wanted to put more focus into his own golf and content career going forward.
His Role at Good Good
Morris was one of Good Good’s original members and one of its more experienced golfers — several years older than most of the group, married, and, according to reporting at the time, still working toward a shot at competitive pro golf while the channel grew around him. He’s Garrett Clark’s cousin, which is part of how he ended up alongside Clark’s GM Golf channel in the first place, before Good Good formed in 2020.
November 2022The Departure
Morris left Good Good on November 23, 2022, around the same time as fellow member Grant Horvat. Neither released a joint goodbye video with the group — each addressed his exit separately, and both were notably light on specifics at the time.
Morris’s own explanation video was titled “The Truth About Me & GoodGood (Full Explanation).” In it, he described the split as mutual and said he and the group had grown apart over differing visions, while noting that wasn’t the only reason for the decision without elaborating further.
The lack of detail left room for speculation — some fans and outlets floated theories about the group’s business deals or internal friction. None of that was ever officially confirmed, and it’s worth treating as speculation rather than fact.
Watch: Morris Addresses the Public Drama
“Micah Morris’ Take on the Public Drama Over Good Good,” reposted January 20, 2023 via the fan channel @golfislyfe-y6c, roughly two months after his departure.
This is a reposted clip, not from Morris’s own channel — content is his own words, but the repost’s original source interview or video hasn’t been traced yet. Treat as secondary until the primary source is identified.
What Morris Has Said Since
Garrett Clark later described the split from his own side as one he could make peace with because of family — “he’s my cousin, so I could deal with it,” Clark said in a 2024 profile, contrasting it with how much harder Horvat’s departure hit him. That framing lines up with Morris’s own account: a difference in direction rather than a falling-out.
In short: it wasn’t about a single dramatic incident. Morris wanted to put more weight behind his own channel and his competitive golf ambitions than staying inside a group format allowed.
Independent Career, TaylorMade, and Titleist
Leaving gave Morris room to chase the competitive side of golf more directly. TaylorMade signed him in January 2023, and later that year he received a sponsor exemption into the Osprey Valley Open — his PGA Tour Canada debut and, to date, his only recorded PGA Tour-sanctioned start. He’s since played in the 2024 and 2025 Creator Classic events at East Lake, reaching a four-player playoff in 2025, and attempted 2025 U.S. Open local qualifying. In January 2025, he moved from TaylorMade to a new partnership with Titleist.
