Josh Kelley quick facts
Joshua “Josh” Kelley is a golf creator, instructor, PGA Professional and trick-shot artist. He first became widely known through the Hole in 1 Trick Shots identity, then expanded his work into instruction, equipment content, on-course matches and competitive creator golf.
His résumé is deeper than the trick-shot label suggests. Kelley played four seasons for Saint Mary’s College, earned honorable-mention All-West Coast Conference recognition and advanced through U.S. Open local qualifying before his career eventually took him through industrial work and back into golf media.
Team George
Why Josh Kelley is on Your Golf Tour
Kelley was selected tenth overall in the 2026 Your Golf Tour draft and joined captain George Bryan’s permanent roster. His combination of shot-making creativity, college competition and creator experience gives Team George more than an entertainment specialist: it gives the team a proven player who can improvise under pressure.
Pursell Farms result
Kelley and George Bryan shot a five-under 31 in the front-nine scramble at Pursell Farms. At the event’s planned wildcard turn, JP Méhu replaced Kelley for the alternate-shot back nine. Team George finished fourth and earned $25,000.
The five-under opening nine matters because it reinforces the central point of Kelley’s profile: the viral trick shots sit on top of a legitimate competitive-golf foundation.

The player before the creator
Upland High School and Saint Mary’s golf
Kelley attended Upland High School in Southern California, lettering in varsity golf for four years and serving as captain as a senior. He helped Upland win three consecutive Baseline League championships, earned three straight all-league selections and won the league championship and MVP award during his final season.
He then played for the Saint Mary’s Gaels from 2004 through 2008. Across his completed college career, Kelley appeared in 137 rounds and recorded an approximately 74.3 scoring average. He produced 19 top-20 finishes, seven top tens and three top fives.
| College measure | Documented total |
|---|---|
| Competitive rounds | 137 |
| Career scoring average | Approximately 74.3 |
| Rounds of par or better | 37 |
| Top-20 finishes | 19 |
| Top-10 finishes | 7 |
| Lowest round | 66 |
| Lowest 54-hole total | 205 |
A record-setting senior season
Kelley’s best college stretch came during his senior season. At the 2007 Xavier Fall Invitational, he shot 66-68-71 for an 11-under 205. That total established a Saint Mary’s 54-hole scoring record at the time. He finished third at Xavier, later placed second at the Callaway Golf Invitational and earned honorable-mention All-WCC recognition.
U.S. Open local qualifying
In 2009, Kelley shot a four-under 68 at Yolo Fliers Club and advanced through U.S. Open local qualifying. The round moved him into the next qualifying stage, but he did not compete in the U.S. Open championship field.
A different road back to golf
From repairing railcars to Hole in 1 Trick Shots
Before becoming a full-time golf creator, Kelley worked repairing railcars as a welder and crane operator. That industrial chapter separates his story from the standard path of a college golfer moving directly into instruction or professional competition.
Kelley later found a new place in golf through trick-shot content. The Tiger Woods ball-juggling Nike commercial helped inspire his interest in creative golf shots. In 2018, the connection came full circle when Kelley performed a trick shot with Woods at Tiger Jam.
What began as Hole in 1 Trick Shots grew into a broader Josh Kelley Golf identity covering instruction, matches, challenges, equipment testing and creator events. His audience now numbers in the hundreds of thousands across social platforms.
Becoming a PGA Professional
Kelley also developed the instructional side of his career through the PGA of America pathway. The PGA identified him as a PGA Associate in 2025, and Kelley publicly announced in July 2026 that he had become a PGA Professional. That title refers to his PGA of America professional status; it does not mean he is or was a regular PGA Tour member.
Competitive creator golf
Before YGT, Kelley competed in the 2025 Internet Invitational at Big Cedar Lodge. He was drafted to Team Bob, lost a close morning scramble with Matt Scharff and won an afternoon alternate-shot match with Sketch. The appearance placed Kelley inside one of creator golf’s biggest competitive productions before his selection by Team George.
Official achievement
Josh Kelley’s Guinness World Record
80
Golf balls hit in one minute using two clubs
Kelley set the Guinness World Record in Northfield, New Jersey, on June 7, 2022. Guinness identifies him as the record holder for this specific feat.
The record is a useful snapshot of what makes Kelley distinctive: speed, coordination, practice and showmanship built on real golf skill.
Brands and equipment context
Callaway, Rhoback and SuperStroke
Kelley has a documented Team Callaway relationship and has appeared in Callaway fitting, testing and promotional content. His public profile also identifies him as a Rhoback athlete, while SuperStroke announced him as a brand ambassador in April 2025.
Kelley’s brand relationships are documented separately from his equipment. A future Clubs & Specs page can use direct video or photographic observations as a dated snapshot.
From industrial work back to golf
This Golficity feature gives the clearest video introduction to Kelley’s path from college golf and railcar work into the creator game. It supports the working-man chapter that separates his biography from a standard social-media résumé.
Why it matters: Kelley’s creator career was a return to golf after a very different professional chapter—not an overnight jump from college competition to internet fame.
How Kelley hit 80 golf balls in one minute
The record attempt captures the combination that made Hole in 1 Trick Shots successful: coordination, speed, repetition and a concept viewers understand immediately. Guinness documents the 80-ball mark from June 7, 2022.
Josh Kelley in the Internet Invitational
Kelley’s 2025 Internet Invitational appearance placed him inside one of creator golf’s largest competitive productions before YGT. He competed for Team Bob and won an alternate-shot match with Sketch.
