Jacob Bridgeman at a Glance
From Inman to the PGA Tour
Bridgeman built a substantial competitive résumé before reaching the PGA Tour. At Chapman High School in Inman, South Carolina, he won three consecutive individual state championships. He then became one of the most accomplished golfers in Clemson history.
His five individual college victories tied Clemson’s career record. As a senior, he won the Linger Longer Invitational and the ACC Championship, defeating North Carolina’s Peter Fountain in a playoff. The conference named Bridgeman its 2022 Men’s Golf Player of the Year.
Bridgeman finished second in the 2022 PGA Tour University ranking and began his professional career on the Korn Ferry Tour. He earned PGA Tour membership by finishing 14th on the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour points list.
Two PGA Tour Victories in 2026
Genesis Invitational
Bridgeman captured his first PGA Tour title at Riviera Country Club, finishing 18-under and holding off Rory McIlroy and Kurt Kitayama by one stroke. His first victory came at a Signature Event with one of the strongest fields of the season.
Biltmore Championship Asheville
On September 20, Bridgeman began the final round five strokes behind and produced a bogey-free, career-best 10-under 61. His 26-under total delivered a two-stroke victory close to his South Carolina home.
Tour Championship Form
Before the second victory, Bridgeman had already added multiple top-10 finishes and a tie for fourth at the Tour Championship.
Why the Asheville win matters
Bridgeman did not protect a lead. He erased a five-shot deficit and posted the lowest PGA Tour round of his young career immediately before the Presidents Cup.
Why Jacob Bridgeman Is on the Presidents Cup Team
U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker used one of his six captain’s selections on Bridgeman for the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah. It will be Bridgeman’s first appearance in the senior competition, but not his first experience representing the United States in this format.
Bridgeman competed in the inaugural Junior Presidents Cup in 2017 and helped the United States win. His selection for Medinah followed two victories, seven top-10 finishes, a strong Tour Championship and elite putting during 2026.
What Bridgeman Brings to Team USA
Bridgeman’s 2026 statistical profile is led by putting and controlled ball-striking. TaylorMade reported that he led the PGA Tour in total strokes gained putting during the season. At Biltmore, he ranked first in strokes gained putting, tied second in driving accuracy and third in strokes gained approach.
That combination fits match play: reliable driving keeps a partner in position, approach play creates birdie opportunities and putting converts tight holes. His documented winning setup also gives him several distinct long-club trajectories through a 3-wood, 9-wood and utility iron.
