A Prototype GTS3 Setup From Driver Through 7-Wood
The August inventory shows prototype Titleist GTS3 heads in all three wood positions. Young used a 10-degree driver with a Diamana Blackboard prototype shaft, followed by GTS3 fairway woods at 16.5 and 21 degrees.
The 3- and 7-woods shared Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Blue 80 TX shafts. This was a substantial change from his earlier 2026 winning setups, which used GT3 and GT1 heads.
Three Iron Designs From 4-Iron Through 9-Iron
Young combined a T200 4-iron, T100 5-iron and custom 631.CY prototype blades from 6 through 9. Dynamic Gold X7 shafts ran through the entire iron section.
The 631.CY design was developed around Young’s preference for less digging through impact and a slightly higher launch than a traditional blade.
Four Vokey Wedges and Two Custom Loft Adjustments
The four-wedge setup included SM11 heads at 48, 52 and 56 degrees plus a WedgeWorks 60-K*. The 56-degree wedge was bent to 57, while the lob wedge was bent from 60 to 62.
The first three wedges used Dynamic Gold X7 shafts. Young placed a slightly lighter Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 in the 62-degree wedge.
A New Xperimental Putter and Tour-Only Golf Ball
Young replaced his familiar Phantom 9.5R with a Scotty Cameron Phantom 10.5 Xperimental Prototype at East Lake. The new putter was confirmed in tournament play and helped him shoot a second-round 62.
His golf ball remained the Titleist Pro V1x Double Dot, a Tour-only prototype he first moved into before his 2025 Wyndham Championship victory.
