Lee was born in Perth to Korean parents and developed alongside his older sister, Minjee. In 2016, he won the U.S. Junior Amateur. Minjee had won the U.S. Girls’ Junior in 2012, making them the first brother and sister to capture the corresponding USGA junior championships.
Lee turned professional in 2019 and quickly became known for exceptional speed, aggressive shot-making and a creative short game. His “Let Him Cook” identity and “Dr. Chipinski” nickname helped make him one of professional golf’s most recognizable personalities.

Lee reached the FedEx Cup Playoffs and competed at the BMW Championship. He enters the Presidents Cup without a 2026 victory, but with two notable runner-up finishes and improved consistency compared with the previous season.
Returning to the International Team in 2026
